Life Science Records was founded in 2024 by Michael Keane to release his electronic music projects: Textbook Maneuver, Distance Major, and SCITK ("Sci Tech"). During the first year, the label released 2 debut LPs, 1 EP, and several singles. Textbook Maneuver has garnered much praise for the debut album "Adrenaline Slip". [with a limited 250 CD pressing] which led rapidly to a a monumental remix of the title track his track ‘Adrenaline Slip’ by the legendary μ‐Ziq, which premiered on the globally renowned Wonderland Magazine. With nearly 150,000 streams across platforms to date, the project has steadily drawn the attention of the global IDM and experimental electronic community. Interviews with Magnetic Magazine, Illustrate Magazine, features on WWAM (We Write About Music), Music For All (Brazil), and Good Music Radar have already highlighted the project’s immersive debut album Adrenaline Slip (2025). It is clear that Textbook Maneuver is emerging as one of experimental electronic music’s most intriguing new figures. It has been quite a remarkable year for a label that went from zero to over 50 songs composed, produced, mixed, and mastered by one person, the founder Michael Keane a Bronx-born, New Jersey-based composer behind the Textbook Maneuver, Distance Major, and SCITK alias. A classically trained pianist with a punk DIY heart, Keane blends cerebral sound design with cinematic storytelling, drawing from a wide palette of influences that stretch from Genesis (Duke era), Rush, and Gary Numan to The Postal Service, U.N.K.L.E., and Phantogram.
